Wood-fired roast duck carved on a platter
Chinese restaurant & music venue in Dublin

About

The story

Hidden behind the ribbons

Don't let the takeaway at the front fool you, hidden behind the colourful ribbons is Hang Dai: a futuristic, retro, fun, contemporary Chinese restaurant and music bar inspired by Blade Runner and John Carpenter movies, with a touch of Deadwood.

With a wood-fired traditional Chinese oven taking centre stage, dishes like Beijing roast duck and mapo tofu are always present. We stay true to some traditional Chinese recipes, but our approach is always playful, merging Asian cuisines with high-end local Irish ingredients.

And even though roast duck and dumplings are our main squeeze, the music and cocktails are no mere side hustle: a custom-built soundsystem, DJ booth and acoustically treated room mean DJs belt out tunes until the wee hours.
